I'm Roisin and the owner of Amazing Tailz Dog Grooming. Since I was young I loved animals, and I knew from a very young age I wanted to work with them.
I have over 18 years experience in the animal care industry, starting out as veterinary nurse.
After having kids, I found it hard to juggle working fulltime , I decided I wanted to be my own boss so I could work around being a mum and everything that comes with it ;)
So I completed dog grooming level 5, and then went of to complete a dog grooming level 6 Apprenticeship in the Netherlands.
I had my own successful grooming salon in Holland until we moved back to Ireland. Since moving back I have been teaching dog grooming level 5 and 6, and I have loved every minute of it.
When it came to teaching I wanted to push myself further, so I went off and got my teaching degree, as I am also very passionate about teaching a profession to students who also want to make changes in their own lives, something I am all to familiar with.
During this time we also dedicated our home to welcoming foster dogs, by doing this we gave them a chance to settle back into family life and helped them find their forever homes.
We recently moved back to my beloved hometown of Passage West. And I thought this is the perfect time to start up my own business once again.
I love all dog breeds and all dog breeds are welcome in my grooming studio!
I have worked in a lot of different dog grooming settings/establishments over the years, and one of the main issues that stood out to me personally is: dog grooming can be stressful for some dogs. That's why I want to offer a calm environment for your pet. I will be working a one-to-one basis only (unless there are multiple dogs in one family) and my studio is a cage free area. So the dog will have my full attention and not be crated. I have zero tolerance towards animal cruelty, so all my products are cruelty free and natural.
